Spring has arrived, and with it comes a fresh start! Although many dread the annual tradition of spring cleaning, there is something undeniably satisfying about a sparkling clean home after the long winter months. By combining cleaning and organizing, you can revitalize your living space and start the season off right. To ensure a successful spring cleaning session, it's essential to create an action plan ahead of time. To help you get started, we've made a checklist that will guide you through the process. So, turn up the music, gather the whole family, and get started!
- Disinfect/clean your cleaning supplies - this includes your vacuum filter, disinfecting all cleaning brushes and washcloths and replacing your toilet wand.
- Wash your windows and screens.
- Scrub walls and baseboards.
- Deep clean carpets and rugs.
- Steam clean your upholstery (sofas and chairs).
- Wax hardwood floors.
- Organize all closets.
BEDROOM:
- Wash bedroom linens - this includes your sheets, duvet and duvet cover, comforter, curtains and pillows.
- Mattress care - rotating your mattress, changing the mattress cover and giving it a deep clean will ensure it lives a long happy life.
- Swap out your seasonal wardrobe and re-organize your closet.
LIVINGROOM:
- Take care of your fireplace - remove old logs, clean out ash and soot from your wood burning fireplace.
- Sanitize your TV remote and any other electronics that are used daily.
- Organize any visible cords with ties or a cable management box.
- Wipe down any décor - this includes candles, picture frames, books and any wall or table top decor that might collect dust.
KITCHEN:
- Empty your freezer and fridge and give it a good wipe down. At the same time, pull your fridge away from the wall and vacuum the dust behind it.
- Deep clean all appliances.
- Remove everything from your cabinets and pantry and give the shelves a good wipe down.
- Pull forward all countertop appliances and scrub your counter.
BATHROOM:
- Scrub bathtub and shower grout and tiles.
- Soak faucets and shower heads in a mixture of vinegar and water to remove calcium buildup and water stains.
- Clean or replace your shower curtain and bathmats.
- Clean and reorganize your medicine cabinet and throw away expired items.
- Clean your makeup brushes, replace your toothbrush and clean/replace your hairbrush.
